Learning IELTS doesn’t need to be boring. There are lots of fun ways to improve your academic English. One of the best available resources is the TED lecture series. Available for free all around the world, TED provides short, interesting, digestible material. TED lectures are perfect for use in the classroom or for studying at home. On this website we have collected the best TED lectures and paired them with material to help improve your IELTS score.

This site is primarily designed for students of IELTS but of course teachers are welcome to use this material in their classes. For the full lesson plans for each TED video, please sign up or log in as a member of TED-IELTS. As a member you will be given access to a wide range of activities designed to educate and entertain IELTS classes.

On this website we also have non-TED, non-IELTS study material. These more general ESL lessons are aimed at students who are studying IELTS and looking for a break from the academic side of things. We include Breaking Bad episodes to break your bad English J and news reports to help you stay up on current events. All these ESL materials are intended for the level of student studying IELTS, and designed to get them listening and speaking up to Band 7.

Our philosophy is that English needn’t be dull. It might sound like a cliché, but learning a language should be fun! The more interest you have, the faster you will learn – and so the materials on this website, like TED and Breaking Bad, are designed to keep students as engaged and interested as possible.
