Your test data

We save your answers, recordings, feedback and progress so you can complete a test and return to your results. Your email is used for result notifications and secure sign-in links. You do not need to set a password.

How feedback is prepared

Reading and listening use an answer key. For speaking, Speechace processes your recording to produce a transcript and speech assessment. OpenRouter routes your written answers or speaking transcript to an AI provider to prepare task feedback. Our current model is provided by Anthropic. We do not include your account email in assessment requests, but anything you say or write in an answer forms part of that request. Avoid including sensitive personal details.

Authorised assessment reviewers can inspect responses when feedback needs checking. These short tests provide practice feedback, not an official IELTS score or a guaranteed prediction.

Service providers

Our website host stores test records and protected recordings. Our email provider delivers sign-in links and notifications. Speechace and the AI services process submitted answers under their own data-processing terms. Processing may take place outside your country. Deleting a test here removes our active copy; it does not promise instant deletion from provider systems or existing backups.

Email choices

Saving results does not subscribe you to optional marketing. Learning emails require a separate choice. Programme updates require joining the programme interest list. You can withdraw either preference in My learning.

Analytics and cookies

Essential cookies keep your test session and sign-in working. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics measures visits, test progress and approximate country. We do not deliberately send your email, answers, recordings or private sign-in links to Google Analytics. You can change your choice through Cookie preferences in the footer. Declining analytics does not prevent you from taking a test.

Retention and deletion

Test attempts without an email are removed after 30 days without an update. Saved free-test answers, recordings, assessment caches and reports are removed after 365 days without an update. The daily cleanup also removes expired sign-in tokens and sessions. Sign-in links expire after 30 minutes and sessions expire after 14 days.

You can delete an individual assessment from My learning sooner. Recordings are kept outside public web folders and are served only to the owning session, the signed-in learner or an authorised administrator. Deleting an assessment does not delete your separate email preferences or unsubscribe you. Use My learning to turn off optional emails, or contact us to request removal of your email record.

These periods apply to the free-test application. The existing shop, provider records and backup retention need their own confirmed policy before launch.
