New Book: A Complete Guide to IELTS Letters

Today, I would like to announce the release of my brand new IELTS book. It is the first one that I have written that is exclusively about IELTS General. This book will give you everything you need to know about writing letters for task 1 of the GT writing test.

Common Problems

Once you have read this book, you will have a much better understanding of what is really required for success in IELTS GT writing.

Key Features

Here are some things you will get in my book that other books do not offer:

  • A straightforward guide to the marking rubric, which is really important for understanding exactly what the examiners want to see.
  • Realistic advice on picking the correct language. (Not just the usual “Don’t say X, say Y.”)
  • An incredible 34 annotated sample letters! The annotations help you to understand why I have written certain things.
  • Detailed explanation about recommended structures and content.

Who Should Read This?

This book is written to help IELTS GT candidates. It has a straightforward style, but it might be difficult for people below band 6 to fully understand without a teacher to help them. I think it would be particularly useful for those stuck at around band 6.5 because it aims to demystify the process of moving up to a band 7 level and beyond.

I often write about how bad IELTS advice is and everything that I produce for TED-IELTS or my books is aimed at combatting the shockingly poor quality of IELTS material available online or in cram schools around the world. With this book, I hope to further help push people away from those bad ideas that cause them to write low-quality letters.

In short, you should buy this book if you:

  • are going to take IELTS General Training
  • want to get a band 7 or higher
  • are already at band 6 or higher

If you have any questions or doubts, you can send me an e-mail or Facebook message and I can clarify the contents of the book for you.
