Don’t you just love listening to music? I do. It’s something people love talking about, too, and so you’ll often find it crops up in conversation. It appears in the IELTS exam as well – the perfect opportunity to show off your passion! So let’s learn a little language for talking about music.
I’m going to share with you today two Powerpoint presentations I recently made for my students at university here in China. They are filled with useful language. The first looks at musical instruments, and the second at musical genres.
There are all sorts of questions about music in the IELTS speaking test so make sure you are comfortable talking on this topic. You don’t need to learn every instrument and every genre but it helps to know the ones that interest you.
Want to do some practice listening on the subject of music? We’ve got you covered. Take a look at this lesson from last year.
